So last night at Oasis we sang "Jesus Is Coming Soon". Does anyone else have trouble singing an upbeat "many will meet their doom"?
Just wonder what the writer of that song was thinking. Was doom the only word that rhymed with soon? It's not like I don't know that people will meet their doom when Jesus comes again, but singing about it in the midst of praise just doesn't seem right?
Jesus is coming soon
Morning night or noon
Many will meet their doom
Trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise
Righteous meet in the sky
Going where no one dies
Heavenward bound!

Yes. I always thought that was weird.
Well, for such a worm as I, I think nearly all older hymns have troublesome lines!
